Hello! I am Tania, a first-year PhD student at the University of Michigan School of Information (UMSI), advised by Dr. Nazanin Andalibi. I graduated from Marquette University in May 2026 with an Honors Bachelor of Science in Computer Science and Cognitive Science, minors in Dance and Gender and Sexuality Studies, and a concentration in Innovation Leadership. At Marquette University, I was advised by Dr. Michael Zimmer and conducted research through the Center for Data, Ethics, and Society.

My research focuses on the intersection of gender, digital interaction, and data ethics. I focus on the ethical usage of and privacy policies for health information systems, particularly how misuse of these systems can affect vulnerable communities. Another area of great interest to me is how data ethics is taught to scholars. Specifically, I am interested in enhancing current curricula to invite scholars to consider the broader impact of their research.
